When walking the dog. - Paul - 31 October 2012

I was overflown by a flight of 5 Apache attack helicopters today.
Magnificent sight and noise.
Couple of minutes later a flight of 4 Typhoons.
No so impressed but there we go.
The airfix kits look better than the real thing.

Then, just as we got back to the car, a single WW2 Hurricane growled over.
Stuff technology, take a wild guess what impressed me the most.

Then I got thinking.

5 Apaches at 35 million per, 175 million. (Wiki Price)
4 Typhoons at 68 million per, 272 million. (Known price)

Total, 447 million for what I saw today and that doesn't even scratch the surface.

We spend out all that money on 9 aircraft but give our troops the heave ho.

No wonder the country is screwed.

nice sight, we live near westlands so get hundreds of helicopters goin overhead all the bloody time xD

its ridiculous to see how much is spent on such things though, i simply cant fathom it, its lots of bits of metal Tongue

Saw a couple of Apaches go over the valley near Bristol once. Was pretty cool.

Haven't seen any strange planes lately but I did see a bomb disposal van on the A9 today though
