fats - preservefreak - 20 November 2012 Apart from the odd tinned pork product or tinned fish a lot of the food we store it lacking in fats. It's both a necessary part of our diet and contains a lot of calories (something we'll all need more of in a disaster). So what fats, oils, etc are people storing and do you have plans for them other than the frying pan? I'm storing 3 litres vegetable oil, 1kg of tinned ghee, 2 litres of olive oil (yummy for dipping bread in) and 2 half pint jars of butter (need to do more but I wanted to test it out before I bulked up) RE: fats - Tibbs735 - 20 November 2012 I have tins of margarine, and plan to get more bottles of oil. Pigs or oily fish like shad would be a good long term source of renewable fat. RE: fats - Barneyboy - 20 November 2012 20 litres of veg and tined mag olive oil and my belly RE: fats - NorthernRaider - 20 November 2012 Not much TBH, Some Lard, Salted Butter, Veggie oil but I think think thats a fat, Whatevers in Bacon grill and spam !!
