Good post

Surviving an event and immediate aftermath is going to require a lot of discipline, preps, skills, and a fair amount of luck as well

depends on the actual event, if a huge initial die off we will have less sheeple to deal with, if its a slow burn event,like power cuts or fuel shortages(rather than NO power or NO fuel ever again) it may take the sheeple 6 months to realise anything has happened! in which case we have already battened down the hatches or bugged out.
