SUK Regional Groups? - SealDriver - 9 December 2012

Now I'm still pretty much new to the workings of this forum, but I 'd like to know 'have we got any Regional SUK Groups set up'?

I'm in the Midlands and I'm rather eager to meet fellow SUK members and put names to faces. I'd also like to start thinking about forming a local SUK group in my area as I think it would be very beneficial for all SUK members to have the support of other likeminded individuals for any number of reasons.

So what does everyone think?

As far as I know, there are no regional coordinators but it is a good idea to set up the groups.
We Londonistan preppers would certainly benefit from the mutual support and protection we would give each other.

Yes indeed. I think that on SUK we are all here for many reasons and we have many differing views, yet we can all learn from each other and respect those views.

It's. good idea, it would be difficult to arrange meets and things like that around work and other commitments.

It would yes, but I would make the time I think for a couple of pints with some new friends even if it was no more than that. If it was too formal I think it would spoil the whole ethos of SUK. Well IMHO.Wink

Yeah true, I agree totally. If live to meet a few people around here, so if there's anyone or around the Berkshire area interested in building ties then say hello

having a RV is one thing, i'm all for meeting up, but an ORGANISED regional set up sounds too much like P2S !!Big Grin

Yeah nothing OTT Big Paul, more like a socialable pint and few laughs.

I was thinking the same, but didnt was to appear negative towards the concept, folks could do the same on P2S if thats there want.

Socialising to be trust and familiarity among neighbouring preppers is not a bad thing at all, it would be like mini RVs.

I would not like to see formal regional chapters, call signs, logos, cliques or inner circles though, or regional organisers / secretaries etc because that is the first step to little elitist cliques and I'm utterly against elitism or little groups of " in" people bullying or dominating other members.
