just had a message from SS, who cant access the forum for the moment for some reason, there is a new computer virus going around, if you receive an email which says "POSTCARD"...DONT OPEN IT-shut down immediately, apparently there is no known repair for it.

Theres always a repair for a computer virus, not getting infected in the first place is always better.
A good rule of thumb with links or attachments in email is "if you dont know who its from or weren't expecting it then delete and dont open it".

he just says he cant get onto the forum, has tried a new password but still no joy, he says "maybe its something i'm doing wrong!"

Ask him what Internet Browser he's using (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome etc) and then get him to try another. This will see if its a browser proble.
If its a login issue then maybe we can reset his account but it might be worth him seeing if he can try the above or creating a new account (the latter we can delete later but nails down the issue to being login problems).
