AL recommended those, because by using the extendable ones you can fine tune a station by reducing or extending the antenna Well a bit of a disaster really, we went to try the antennas only to find that the new NA-774M don't fit, so that was the end of the experiment before it started. I must have completely miss-understood someone and purchased the wrong one, so now I am looking to see if I can find an adapter so I can use the 774,...or look for another that does fit, I know that BM was also looking for an adapter at one point RE: Highland AL and an experimental Baofeng UV5RC - Luci_ferson - 4 March 2013 every hurdle you hit or mistake you make is saving hundreds like me from doing the same. thanks its appreciated. RE: Highland AL and an experimental Baofeng UV5RC - NorthernRaider - 4 March 2013 HL you can buy adaptors for most radio connectors, male to male, female to male, male to female, female to female BNC PNC, PL259 etc etc. RE: Highland AL and an experimental Baofeng UV5RC - Highlander - 4 March 2013 (4 March 2013, 19:49)NorthernRaider Wrote: HL you can buy adaptors for most radio connectors, male to male, female to male, male to female, female to female BNC PNC, PL259 etc etc. Yea, I will have a look see shortly, I am sure you are right RE: Highland AL and an experimental Baofeng UV5RC - NorthernRaider - 4 March 2013 http://www.sinotel.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=9 RE: Highland AL and an experimental Baofeng UV5RC - Highlander - 4 March 2013 (4 March 2013, 21:24)NorthernRaider Wrote: http://www.sinotel.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=9 Strange you should post that link, AL has just got off the phone with me and told me about the site,.. we had a bit of a laugh, I half expected his call. Al, hurry up and get yourself on-line, we need you,.. RE: Highland AL and an experimental Baofeng UV5RC - NorthernRaider - 4 March 2013 Cooperation between commited preppers assures us a better chance of survival, EG Mrs NR may be attending a course on homeopathic medicine in Forres, knowing theirs a friend in the area if something goes wrong makes my life easier. RE: Highland AL and an experimental Baofeng UV5RC - Highlander - 4 March 2013 or two........... RE: Highland AL and an experimental Baofeng UV5RC - NorthernRaider - 4 March 2013 She has a choice to do the course if she finds the money, London or Forres I wont let her go to Londonistan unaccompanied so its forres and its prepper territory as well. A couple of notes for anyone following this advice: Most Nagoya antennas are not suitable for PMR446 application The Latest versions of UV5R radios are a new shape and will not take the full range of accessories that are available for the radio. This is especially the case with extended battery packs and battery packs for AA/AAA batteries. The latest version of the radio that I have checked that would accept the maximum number of accessories is the UV5R Plus model. LS |
