The downside to this model is that it still needs to be recharged from the mains The Spareone i think needs an AA battery - nice one RE: New cheap long life back up cell phone - bigpaul - 18 May 2013 we've both got bog basic mobile phones, I think at the time they were £10 but we got them for just the postal costs(cos we were Virgin customers and still are), can charge them up on the mains, also got a spare charger-cost £6 in a local market- which plugs into the cigarette lighter in the car .i say "bog basic" cos that's what they are, they receive and make phone calls, texts too and that IT, no camera no fancy do dahs! RE: New cheap long life back up cell phone - PaulandNell - 18 May 2013 Test post please ignore. RE: New cheap long life back up cell phone - Highlander - 18 May 2013 I think all phones can now be charged via a 12v battery, at least all the ones I have ever owned, I wouldn't buy one that couldn't be charged that way RE: New cheap long life back up cell phone - Preppergirl - 19 May 2013 look at the nomad emergency phone too, i got one among my back up comms, is centre of the pic https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.423357037754362.1073741833.417787254978007&type=3#!/photo.php?fbid=423357051087694&set=a.423357037754362.1073741833.417787254978007&type=3&theater RE: New cheap long life back up cell phone - Franc - 19 May 2013 (19 May 2013, 00:25)Preppergirl Wrote: look at the nomad emergency phone too, i got one among my back up comms, is centre of the pic Ooo you have a pager, lucky thing, I miss mine, made a great alarm clock, and plausible deniability, (sorry boss, did not get the message last night.) Also is great for letting you invent reasons for not doing things, that you cant invent when someone calls you on a mobile. |
