knitting and crocheting yardages - preservefreak - 13 April 2013 might be useful to have on hand: http://www.lionbrand.com/faq/96.html I just wish I knew how many meters/yards you got in a 100g ball RE: knitting and crocheting yardages - Highlander - 13 April 2013 according to this link 50g ball of wool is 150 meters http://www.knitwell.co.uk/acatalog/copy_of_DOUBLE_KNITTING_WOOL.html but I guess it also depends on how think the wool is THICK,.. not think RE: knitting and crocheting yardages - Ladynotingreen - 7 May 2013 Hi preservefreak, Highlander's got it right: it really depends on the thickness of the yarn. I've thrown in a photo of two balls in my knitting stash to illustrate this. The ball on top is 420 yards of sock weight yarn, while the one on the bottom is about 100 yards of bulky weight yarn. What weight (thickness) yarn you use will depend on what you're making or what your pattern calls for. [img][/img] Hope that helps. I knit, but not that well. RE: knitting and crocheting yardages - Ladynotingreen - 12 May 2013 You're welcome. I am determined to improve as well - I've started a sweater. Hopefully it doesn't end up elephant sized! |
