Solar lanterns - Mandlaka - 27 May 2013

I just came across this on Ebay after trawling Amazon US.

A solar lantern that was developed for charity use in areas where folks do not have access to electricity.

It strikes me as a brilliant piece of kit we could all use.

Luci Inflatable Solar Light

Enjoy!

Thank you, Prepper1.

I just found the homepage of the manufacturers and it is as follows:

No more Ebay middlemen...Smile

That's a good find but while they may be better than a tealight or candle in a jamjar, at over 20 bucks, they're a bit more expensive... Smile

Don't know about you but my funds are very limited (ask the wife!) Big Grin

You could get the same result if you bought one of those garden solar path lights and placed it in a jar,... I certainly wouldn't pay that much for one of these

It's the wife that limits mine Smile Also the bugger keeps using my tealights "because its nice" in the bath.

Back to the lights, whilst they seem canny, I would be concerned about ripping or tearing them.

Looks ideal for bugging in though. Sticking them on my ever increasing 'to buy' list Smile

I've got 5 solar lanterns in the garden. All are surprisingly bright. Just 4 is enough to add significant light to an area the size of a double garage. They're not inflatable and are not going to be as bright as the Luci Light, but they're still pretty good.

Ideal if you're thinking about bugging in and the grid goes down.
