Butter / Ghee - River Song - 12 June 2013 In any post TU sitatution, lack of fats can make one very cold let alone anything else. It's long been recognised that storage of clarified butter (or Ghee) cpould be very useful but it does tend to be expensive. I came across this http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00BIGFMW6/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 at £17 odd for 2 kilos - its incredibly cheap. RE: Butter / Ghee - Scythe13 - 12 June 2013 Most Tescos have a 'foreign foods' section. The ghee there is really cheap! RE: Butter / Ghee - bigpaul - 12 June 2013 you can get a lot of fats from your diet post shtf, you would have to rethink your diet, but foods like pork, chicken and milk have high fats. It is only clarified Butter and very easy to do at home. RE: Butter / Ghee - Highlander - 12 June 2013 (12 June 2013, 11:02)Tartar Horde Wrote: Or make your own Ghee. Thank you RS a good find RE: Butter / Ghee - BDG - 12 June 2013 Pretty sure it is a lot cheaper at local Indian subcontinent supermarket, I will make a not of the price next time I am in. I normally buy the smaller cans at the moment as it would take me an age to get through a large one. As for fats at home, hot lard on sterilised jars that are closed up right away will keep as long as it is out of the light in does not get to warm.
