I'm looking to make myself a large machete and was wondering what steel to use and the best place to get it.cheers Dave

a bit of an old leaf spring off an old tranny (no not SD) old ford transit

Yup, you want a leaf-spring from a landrover defender.
One that's not completely rusted through Wink

Scrap yard might have 'em, if not always worth asking a farmer. L200 pickups have the safe suspension set up, so have a gander for one of those in the scrappy.

OR, you could jusy buy what you want
