Thats the trouble, we were the best and we let it go, we ruled the world (almost) and we treated our subjects so badly they revolted and kicked us out again etc... If we'd have kept the Empire there would have been jobs for everyone looking after it... Now there an idea....lets get our Empire back....

We were the very best and the creation of the Greatest Empire and winners of countless wars and the creators of a huge commonwealth will testify, But one sad day in 1948 saw the cancer become malignant and since then British society and achievement has slowly been eatern away and poisoned by the disease of socialism and the welfare state.

Everything rises, is powerful then settles down and dies. The US is next, China is coming up to overtake without violence. Spain, Portugal, France, The Huns, Hannibal, Spartans, The Beatles. It is the cycle of life.
