RE: Bear Traps...but smaller - Sthsailor - 26 April 2020

I was Bow hunting Pigs in SW Queensland (Australia) along creek bank.
Decided to have a sit down and smoke (bad boy..) to check wind direction..
Had last look around horizon and a sniff, then a quick look around tree that I was to squat against for snakes.
Just where I was about to hunker down, was a bloody great big arsed Bear Trap, set and chained to tree.

Bloody hell, it would have taken my arm clean off (if I was lucky) if I hadn't been looking real closely for snakes.

Land owner forgot to tell me he had a stack of them on property (5 thousand acres) for the Pigs.
Still managed to knock off over a hundred pigs over next two weeks between Bow, Winchester 12g and Ruger .270. (the 12g was ALWAYS over my shoulder)
Great for stopping big ferals at close range with oo or slugs.
