Manual Grain Grinder - Skean Dhude - 17 October 2013 I've been looking at grains for my prepping and recognise that I don't have a good grinder. There doesn't seem to be any really good manual grinders in the UK but there are plenty in the US. So I'm thinking of sourcing one from there. What manual grinder would be recommended for a variety of UK grains to bake my bread and prepare for food? RE: Manual Grain Grinder - uks - 17 October 2013 We use a wondermill junior so far no problems mine you its less than 6 months old. I found it turned out very expensive on p&p to import one. http://www.wondermill.co.uk/Wonder-Junior-Deluxe-Hand-Mill/products/8 RE: Manual Grain Grinder - Stevew - 17 October 2013 theres one in northern tools http://www.northerntooluk.com/food-preparation/manual-grinders-and-mills ive not got one so cant coment on its quality but it is in the uk RE: Manual Grain Grinder - Stewart - 18 October 2013 that one won,t grind the wheat fine enough to make flour RE: Manual Grain Grinder - Bjm - 18 October 2013 (18 October 2013, 18:20)Stewart Wrote: that one won,t grind the wheat fine enough to make flour but the Wonder Junior Deluxe Hand Mill on the same site does RE: Manual Grain Grinder - Skean Dhude - 18 October 2013 (18 October 2013, 18:20)Stewart Wrote: that one won,t grind the wheat fine enough to make flour Which one? Yes it's for coffee, but I'm assuming you could easily use it for flour. The great thing is, you can change the size of the grind. I hold to the quality of this item 100%. I'm a through and through coffee snob having spent around £600ish on coffee making items, this grinder is stunning. Having said that, it will probably take a long time to grind much stuff, as it does take a lot of winding for a single coffee (but fresh ground is definitely well worth it). If you attached it to a bike or something, to rig up the blades to spin faster, you'll be a very happy person. Would it not be easier to go medieval and just get a massive weight to crush everything up, then just mechanise it? http://www.dhgate.com/product/dhgate/150536300.html?utm_source=pla&utm_medium=GMC&utm_campaign=abayomi&utm_term=150536300&f=bm%7c150536300%7c019030-Kitchen-Dining-Bar%7cGMC%7cAdwords%7cpla%7cabayomi%7cGB%7c019030005-KitchenGadgets%7cc%7c%7c&gclid=CKWtw8-NpLoCFRIPtAodbjoAOw It's not cheap, but apparently is brilliant for spaghetti flour. |
