growing potatoes in a small space - Hex - 21 February 2014

so i saw this on a facebook group recently and thought it could be worth a try Big Grin
just gotta get some potatoes and wait for them to shoot Sad

I use old tyres stacked one on top of the other in a "tower" of 3, spuds in the bottom one, cover over, once the shoots start showing cover again until you reach the top of the 3rd one.

I should say, old tyres are readily available in this area.

Great idea and well worth a shot, there's so much you can do with a tattie. I simply used an old plastic dustbin with holes drilled in bottom for drainage, and like BP say keep adding soil/compost as the plants grow.
