Bargain SAK - Devonian - 19 December 2014

Great deal on Amazon for the Victorinox Huntsman SAK, now down to £17

I've had one of these since I was teenager (long time ago!) and it's still going strong, everyone should own at least one SAK Wink

Also a great last minute Xmas present for others.

Cheers Dev just ordered a pair of em

I have a bit of a collection going...it's an addiction , got Spartan x3 climber , camper , waiter , classic x2(small one's) and standard....these will be the first with a saw(not sure how useful that is going to be?)

RE: Bargain SAK - Devonian - 19 December 2014

Hasn't the SAK camper got a saw blade??

Anyway the SAK saws are actually very good and I've used mine a lot over the years.

Obviously it's no good for a tree trunk, but anything up to a couple of inches, then for a pocket knife it's actually pretty impressive.

I think the huntsman is one of their best/most useful models.

This is my every day knife:

Not UK legal though, the blade locks open.

I have a very similar Victorinox Trailmaster, which again is a great knife, but again it has a locking blade, that is also longer than 3", so does limit when I carry it.

Ummm, just realised, Mo may not be the only one with a bit of an addiction Wink

RE: Bargain SAK - Midnitemo - 19 December 2014

mine doesn't but I have had it since the 80's

looking forward to getting it...much bigger than all my others...my current favourite is the Spartan...great value compact and covers all the basic needs.

Almost identical, yours has the philips screwdriver, mine has the gutting blade.

Incidentally, the serrated gutting blade is excellent for cutting rope, but difficult to sharpen.

RE: Bargain SAK - Midnitemo - 20 December 2014

just checked my "camper" is a "camping" lol

my new pair have arrived...24hr amazon prime on 30 day trial Big Grin look good....impressed for £17

oooh me bad....on closer inspection it does have a saw but in my defense it's been in my triumph Bonneville toolkit on the bike for 10 years Blush

RE: Bargain SAK - Jace - 27 December 2014

I saw a Victorinox store at Hong Kong airport a few weeks back and was excited at getting a new SAK with some HK dollars I had left over. Although, of course, being in an airport, the store was full of overpriced clothes and accessories with not a blade in sight!

The last couple SAKs I've had have been confiscated at the airport and train station, so I guess I shoulda realized that they wouldn't have anything useful for sale as soon as I saw the logo on the wall.
