brazils capital running dry

I thought brazil was on the up and not a 3rd world country anymore , well it looks like the taps are empty , in a hot place like brazil this would lead to many problems.

Sao Palo has had a water shortage for decades and the rapid economic growth present today is amplifying the supply problem.

When you are already stretched thin a bit of a drought can push things over the edge.

SE Brazil is not the lush rain forest environment of the Amazon basin and things get dry there on occasion.

I wonder if industry is getting the h20 not the many slums.

I am not sure about Sao Palo but in Mexico City many of the slums truck water in and sell it on the spot out of the tankers.

The slums in central and south America are mostly made up of squatters and no utilities are provided for them.
