After This No Activity??? - Mortblanc - 8 May 2015

All right, we'll let the American ask about it.

How will the election results affect your prepping?

I have other questions but they would lead to a political session bordering on the absurd.

No action here for 2 days after a general election that B-slapped more than half of the political spectrum and not a post about anything.

Are you all still recovering from the celebration or trying to drown the disappointment?

From my perspective, it was probably the best result for the country as a whole, but effectively it just means more of the same, and no great changes, and less risk of instability.

more cuts ....and they will try to back out of a eu exit vote....but I will admit our tory pedo loving friends [sorry dev Tongue] are a dam sight better than red ed and the snp that's snp ....not bnp [shame TongueTongue]

I tend to agree, Dev. At least, for the time being, things will be stable. Too many other problems looming globally and in Europe to celebrate anything at the moment.

Deeper cuts ahead, but that would have been the same regardless who got in.I'm not surprised that the Lib Dems got a severe hammering. They stopped being an opposition party and became a part of the establishment. If you were going to vote Lib Dem you may as well just vote for Cameron to hold back the chance of a Labour/SNP coalition which would have been a disaster for the UK.
I'm surprised UKIP only got Clacton,I expected a better result for them but Farage will be back in september I'm certain.
As much as I don't like David Cameron I work for a very small company and they will do better with the Tories than they would with Labour.

So I'll be hammered with more taxes and less services, but I have a better chance of staying in permanent employment while they milk me of more of my disposable income.
It will in no way affect my prepping.I lead quite a frugal life and will still be far better off than thousands of other poor buggers out there in the world.Apart from wanting and failing to see Farage in Westminster for the comedy value alone I'm pretty impassive regarding the result.

Ed Milibands rise or (set up ) and demise (fall guy ) was set up the day of his elevation as leader (small letters ) and so was cleggs (even more obvious ) all others just collateral damage...UKIP i am still working on that, Curtains down on this election .....GREECE is next on stage....will all this change my preps .....oh yes.

RE: After This No Activity??? - Midnitemo - 8 May 2015

the outcome today for me was the best of a bad lot....I'm less worried about the future of the UK now than I was 24 hours ago .... business as usual in the mo household for now.

II'm expecting to be squeezed and bled white in taxes whilst having more services cut , more cronyism and sell off's but I'm still glad we don't have labour at the helm and i consider myself to be a socialist
