Possible trouble in Portugal - NorthernRaider - 23 October 2015 It appears the socialist left and the communists in Portugal have set aside their differences and agreed to cooperate in forming a government. In the election 3 weeks ago the right pro EU pro austerity party formed the government with a tiny percentage of the vote because no other parties could unite. So today two left wing parties have teamed up and agreed to create a government and they have a LARGE DEMOCRATIC majority. The Portugese president has intervened and BANNED the DEMOCRATICALLY elected parties from forming a government because they are anti EU. There are already rumblings about big trouble if the will of the people is not respected. RE: Possible trouble in Portugal - Nix - 23 October 2015 And I was taught that politicians were supposed to represent the people that voted them in, I think that died out a long time ago lol! RE: Possible trouble in Portugal - Carnebwen - 23 October 2015 Rather there than here, but it shows that democracy can be damned when we don't Do what the elites want. Hopefully it will serve as a message for the rest, as well as all that globalisation and smart phones meaning we have to import the Middle East directly into Europe merkel is spouting. RE: Possible trouble in Portugal - Sunna - 24 October 2015 shame as Portugal is the only place in Europe that you can buy a bit of land and live on it . RE: Possible trouble in Portugal - Sunna - 24 October 2015 also Greece did the same to golden dawn , threw all the leaders in jail took all their cash , on trumped up charges. when their backs against the wall expect no mercy . |
