I agree, I think you have to focus on short, medium, long term needs and what's necessary over what's desirable. It would be possible with space and unlimited budgets, to do/store all manner of things but who has space and an unlimited budget. You can break prepping down into areas and cover those areas within your means. It needn't be a giant shopping spree, to keep Amazon in profit. You don't need three ways to purify water, one reliable method will do.
