Soup? - Mortblanc - 14 November 2016

Its nippy here. Time for some soup to warm the innards.

I did this the easy way. No hot rocks in a pigs' bladder, no tin can technology, no solar oven, no raiding the survival stores, just the old crock pot plugged into the wall.

I put about a pound of cubed pork in there, a pack of onion soup mix and some Dales seasoning, garlic and such. It will cook for the rest of the day while I throw various vegetables, rice, mushrooms and pasta at the pot. It will be ready a bit after dark and should be enough to last a couple of days.

Over here beef prices are out the roof but pork is still reasonable.

Guess I over did it.

It is now Nov 18th and I still have soup left!

Getting sort of sick of it too!

I just hope you like soup

I made Jewish Penicillin today (Chicken soup) in the pressure cooker, used Chicken thighs, onions, pearl barley, lentils, carrots and some rice (added around twenty minutes before dishing up). Cooked the thighs in the pressure cooker then put them and the other ingredients in a slow cooker for a couple of hours...yummy Smile

A couple of good things about winter is soup and stews Smile

Think is in the U.K. A stew is different from a soup ?
