Plastic Sealable Barrels (Bristol) - Reality Jones - 25 January 2012 Ok, I've found a place in St werburghs, Bristol that sell those blue plastic barrels with the sealable lids Here are the sizes and prices. Add 20% for the V.A.T. 30 Ltr £18.90 60 Ltr £25.20 120 Ltr £33.08 220 Ltr £45.68 They have two deliveries a week on Tuesdays and Fridays and they need 24hrs notice for orders as they don't keep the barrels on the premises. Their address is Bristol Plastic Containers Unit 10, Ashley trading estate Ashley parade Bristol, BS2 9XS Tel. 01179 558500 I missed out the 210 Ltr £31.50 ?? That makes it cheaper than the 120 ltr, they must have made a f##k up on the price list. RE: Plastic Sealable Barrels (Bristol) - NorthernRaider - 25 January 2012 Hey RJ dunno if food grade but used containers of the same type are any good to you cos they are much cheaper 30 litre = £3.60 60 litre = £6.50 http://www.dvfuels.co.uk/index.asp RE: Plastic Sealable Barrels (Bristol) - uks - 25 January 2012 Good price and good barrels DV FUELS RE: Plastic Sealable Barrels (Bristol) - Reality Jones - 25 January 2012 Thanks NR. These are unused straight from the factory. I wanted to get something that I knew was uncontaminated for mass food / equipment storage, RE: Plastic Sealable Barrels (Bristol) - Scythe13 - 25 January 2012 Thanks guys. All great info. RE: Plastic Sealable Barrels (Bristol) - Kenneth Eames - 26 January 2012 I use new barrels for food and used barrels for other goods. I am always looking for old barrels and bakeries are good places to look. Kenneth Eames. RE: Plastic Sealable Barrels (Bristol) - Scythe13 - 26 January 2012 I've just realised, there's a bakery warehouse/factory thing just around the corner from where I work!!! RJ, don't bother buying any barrels yet. I'll check what I can get off them. RE: Plastic Sealable Barrels (Bristol) - Skean Dhude - 26 January 2012 Kenneth, Make sure your food barrels are food grade. They leech over time and we don't want to find out after TSHTF than they are not food grade. RE: Plastic Sealable Barrels (Bristol) - Scythe13 - 26 January 2012 I've just been to a couple of huge backery factory places, and nobody said they use the big blue barrels any longer. They fell out of favour years ago, apparently. It was 2 different places that said that. I'm thinking of checking out animal feed places. See if they are chucking any away. RE: Plastic Sealable Barrels (Bristol) - Reality Jones - 26 January 2012 I intended on filling some with lots of individual Mylar bags of food. Would I still need to make sure the Barrels were food grade? |
