It must be an old age thing! the more i wind on down the road... the more the lads in the builder's yard where i pick up stuff pull my leg ..."now put that piece of batten down ! you daft bastard ..you could do damage....you'r at that funny age...you could go anytime ! just like that (snaps fingers)" and then we spend some time talking about ..who's no longer about.....yes i seem to be doing a fair old few gigs around the local churches and crematoriums these days....then the conversation turns to how friends and colleges met their ends.....many stories told took another twenty mins....as i walk to the car i turn back and say....i would like to go like my grandfather peacefully in his sleep...i pause.....and not like his passengers....screaming their fucking heads off.
