A number of things bother me about the near future. The loss of cash, making purchases, infinitely trackable, the possibility of hoarding laws, at some point in the future and green legislation that damages, supply chairs, reduced and restricted farming and laws against log fires indoor and outdoor, (respiratory health)
And of course with the phasing out of oil and gas, will the grid be able to cope the huge increase in electricity usage ?
It could be a perfect storm of causes and effects that make the near future difficult.

of course the power grid WONT be able to cope, it cant cope now, in the last few winters electricity demand has outstripped supply, only by buying electric from abroad have they stopped the lights going off, that may not be possible in the near future.
