There are more and moreof these expected. It is evolution and also due to the way we give out antibiotics like sweeties to people that don't follow the instructions.

It's on our lists.

Damn it! I wanted to get some anti-biotics.

Oh well, it will still be good for blood poisoning and things like that.

Anti biotics will still be useful just not against these strains.

Bacteria with these genes can be even more dangerous than the better known superbug MRSA. That's because the genes sit on a mobile chunk of DNA that can be acquired by many species of bacteria, increasing the incidence of drug-resistant infections .

In other words it has the potential to mutate and jump from species to species.
