Put very simply, the recurrence of a Tory gov is a fair thing. It was expected for those down here.
The next things to happen will be more austerity…also expected. Along with other 'not so fun' things. Let's be honest, it's not like any other party was offering a nice, smooth sailing alternative. So the vote has been cast for more austerity, as opposed to Labour and more borrowing, so more debt, and more austerity…just delayed somewhat.
The thing is, with more cuts on the horizon, an EU referendum, and after the EU referendum…a very likely GB/Scottish Independence referendum, potentially leading to a new 'country' being formed, will this really effect the situation?
Yes, it is more possible. GCHQ is watching the UK populace much more than the NSA is watching the US people. So we're already being more heavily watched than our cross-pond-pals. Not ideal. However, with more cuts and the alike, the potential for government directed hate-action is increased. Yes, I'm walking increased risk from anti-gov attacks. More people trying to bring down the gov and unsettle the UK.
Does anyone remember the IRA? We all do. So if there is a Scottish ref coming up, and once things go through, is it possible there will be an SRA? It didn't happen after the last one, but could it happen next time?
What about the Greek's and Spanish problem with the EU? Would our referendum cause major issues to the stability of the continent? Things are tenuous enough as it is. Would more destabilisation be a good thing?
What's all this got to do with being watched? GCHQ will be looking out for people with extremist views, maybe those that voted against the establishment will be short listed as a 'to watch/check' list?
The potential risk involved in being a prepper is really very low, but for people involved in black-ops prepping…never has opsec been more important.
We may not being watched. There is a good chance that anyone trying to watch us has already seen that I'm bloody boring and just like porn a lot (which is probably true of every guy with a link to the internet) so am not really being watched. But what about your internet searched? Your book purchases from Amazon? Your posts on Facebook or here? Your emails? Your phone calls?
Wow, I sound like a nutter now. But truth be told, no matter who got into power, things were going to get progressively worse for us in regards to privacy. So if we believe things are going to happen, it makes sense to be even more careful about what's going on around us and what we're saying to who.
It's unlikely that you specifically are being watched 24/7, but we are all being tracked. This much we can guarantee.
Be safe, be careful, and be quiet about extreme views. You're only painting a target on yourself.
