RE: So much for the Global warming lie - Tibbs735 - 17 February 2013 Oil also keeps the dollar, and therefore the world economy on its feet, because oil can only be sold and bought on the international market with dollars, creating artificial demand for a doomed currency. [/quote] Gadddafi was killed 'cos he took to long to bug out and was caught en route. A lesson for us all i think. As for global warming, I believe there is a natural cycle to it which is not the problem. The problem is the timescale, which is normally over millennia, but now appears to be happening over decades. This, imho, is down to human activity and, coupled with overpopulation and resource depletion (peak oil, desertification/loss of topsoil, water pollution, etc) means that the world cannot carry on as it is without a major crash. Personally I hope it's peak oil that causes the "readjustment" as we could adapt fairly quickly, albeit with a much reduced population, and being preppers we should have a much greater chance of being among the survivers and thrivers. If it's positive feedback enhanced global warming then human survival may end up being only viable in the far northern and southern latitudes, which basically means we'd be screwed. Considering that, if it is global warming that does for us, then by the time it really kicks in, to the worst extent, then I'd probably be dead anyway and seeing as I don't have any children, I really shouldn't give a shit. The trouble is I have a number of nieces who I love and I want them to have the best possible future , therefore, I'll keep on prepping, studying permaculture, etc on their behalf even though they may never know I'm keeping a watchful eye over them.
