cider is easier to brew than nettles cosw it has own sugers. yopud have to add sugers to brew nettle properly to a high enough alcohol content.

mash apples, wait till they start to gow brown. add boiled water, (not boiling)
add few slices of bread (preferably proper yeast)
pour in half a cup of cold strong tea (for the tannin)
leave to brew.
been that long i cant even remember the full details of that either lol.
It used to be called hooch

stills are ilegal un uk at the moment, i wouldnt put it together,
its not ilegal to own the parts but to put them together is ilegal even if you dont use it i believe.

something that does brew up great is the juice cordials you get in shops.
any flavour alcohol you like, just add some water sugar and yeast in a demi john with an airlock.
its yummie, although orange isnt very nice.

im still struggling to decide what to put in a quick bolt bag.
something you can just grab and run if the need arrises.
so far its got a tin opener, a large plastic grounsheet. a first aid kit. a thermal blanket
10 tea bags and some sugar, purification tablets (awaiting portable filter)
2 lighters, water proof matches. some paper sealed in a zip bag and some solid fuel fire lighters.

now im looking at everything else and wanting to put it all in. ( it cant fit)

ive packed better for a camping trip.

oh and an old Gat (for what use it would be)

the plan is to have 4 of these bags, one for each member of familly (minus the gat)
so they have to be light and easy to carry.
radios will be added.

sometimes things happen at the worse times, id like to atleast have something if that happens, and some way for us to get back together if split up.

theres a few glow sticks (cheap ones from poundshop) going in too, as they dont require batteries or give off smoke

Luci, stick a small bottle of water in each bag if it'll fit. That way you have water & a method of carrying more once you find a place to replenish. Also a couple of bite size mars bars or something. A little food & drink will be great moral boosters.

I was thinking something like the small fruit energy drinks might be better than water if you have to cover any great distance

Will it not spoil HL?

thanks guys ,
fruit and buiscuit energy bars would be ideal.

similar to the breakfast bars,

and theyre light and wrapped in foil.

cheap enough to replace too if they get close to date.

i suppose a few cupasoups wouldnt go a miss either.

I don't think so, the ones I have in storage are from Military ration packs, so although I don't know how long, they must be ok for a couple of years,...I must check
