RE: Surviving? Is it worth it. - River Song - 23 August 2013 John - The fat lady is clearing her throat. BP - If you are right then I must be wrong. If I am right then you must be wrong. If you have 'A', you do not have "non-A' RE: Surviving? Is it worth it. - Tartar Horde - 23 August 2013 Getting back to the original premise of would we help someone in distress, I would, but only on my terms and if i could win the encounter. However honourable the action it is suicide to get into a fight you can't win, but if I could i would definately stop woman and children being raped and abused. If I had to walk away it would be with regret and anger, but that's just me, and maybe I have an old fashioned outlook. RE: Surviving? Is it worth it. - River Song - 23 August 2013 I guess thats the usual way to end a heated discussion. Different points of view ---- Different points from which to view. Reminds me of the story of the blind men and the elephant. One felt the trunk and said an elephant was like a big snake One felt the leg and said the elephant was like a tree Both different points from which to view. The fallacy of this story is that there is an objective elephant which neither of the blind men got right. Maybe none of us have got it 'right'. But I will still maintain that there is a 'right'. objectively RE: Surviving? RE: Surviving? Is it worth it. - River Song - 23 August 2013 BP - read what I wrote - not what you THINK I wrote. We could both be wrong We cant both be right I have considered your alternatives and I reject them - my right to do so. I was just observing that maybe there is an objective truth that BOTH of us have missed. I have considered your alternatives and I reject them - my right to do so. I'm going to exit this thread. If you really need to have the last word - its yours RE: Surviving?
