Maybe time to seriously look into electric cars? Obviously no use after SHTF, but a possible option as oil prices continue to rise.

I don't just mean expensive Tesla's or the Leaf either - I have driven an electric car here in China that costs roughly $22k, can do a top speed of 140km/h, has a range of 200km/charge and comfortably seats 4. The only prob is the battery takes up a bit of room in the boot, so less storage, but would be fine for the daily commute, taking the kids to school or whatever.
