Thank you for the welcome. Stones in empty beer cans and a trip line used to be the British Armys secret high tech intruder detector.
When you join the army you get two new identities, one is a nick-name and the other is a number. The number is in a sense, can be read as a complete bio of the individual. For example all the other ex soldiers on here will automatically know I am ancient and ugly. Educational here, is't it Hi!

I wondered about the stones in the beer can, but assumed I must be wrong because of your military background.
I never expected the military to use tricks we used as kids to protect our base camps.
I guess it makes sense, why buy something when you got something freely available anyway and it gos unnoticed.

Of course,...how stupid of me,.. 2352xxxx is a little before my time,.. but only just, I am 2410xxxx, so I could make a pretty good guess at your enlistment year
