Welcome Tonka, Glad you've found the site. I know Portchester very well and have been in the Castle many times. I was born in Portsmouth and lived there for thirty years. I still have a sister in the City and she is 91 and, another sister in Southampton who is 92. I can't get down to visit as my wife has some health problems. Fortunately she is feeling somewhat better at the moment. Maybe I will manage a visit sometime in the future and perhaps we could meet up for a chat. Kenneth Eames.
