The socialist welfare system falls apart when the people paying in realise they don't need to work either.

The problem is always the same with such systems, there is always more and more people wanting to take out of a communal cooking pot than there are willing to add ingredients to it.

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover they can vote themselves largess out of the public treasury.
