Rocket heaters are the way to go, I'm planning a conservatory ( Posh lean too Green house ) against the back of the house and am intending to install one as the main heat source.
Having seen plans that include using the flue itself as a heat sink that will stay warm hours after the flames have gone out, built with concrete and river stones.
Have concerned using the type that include some sort of oven for cooking, maybe not hot enough for roosting but would be great for bread or stews.
