this is nothing new and has been known about for years.
I've just dug out one of my old note books.
back in 2008 I wrote: Britain is likely to face a shortfall in electricity generation within 5-7 years, the number of power plants coming out of service over that time make shortages likely.
the UK will experience prolonged power cuts as a third of generating capacity is due to be decommissioned by 2017 but will not be replaced fast enough , new reactors will not be ready in time to take up the shortfall. endquote.
apart from a couple of new power plants, built by foreign money you will notice, which wont be online for years and in the case of Hinckley Point the actual structure hasnt even been started to be constructed yet, nothing ever changes.
better not tell the pleb in the street, they might panic?
