just a thought during ww1 and ww2 anyone thought of as the enemy (Germans and Italians ) living in the uk were interned , if there is a ww3 who would they intern ? Iranian and if backed by Russia and china them too or all Muslims ?

There were a lot of Italians living here in Northern Ireland oddly enough and guess what was done with them? They were rounded up and imprisoned on a ship in Belfast Lough.

The worry I have is that my wife, an ethnic Russian (but not a Russian citizen), would be targeted. Maybe me too. And our kids taken off us. Same would apply to every single marriage between British citizens and Russians or Chinese.

Maybe, but things are not the same now. The western governments think everyone is a potential terrorist now - even babies - so if a war scenario were underway, I wouldn't be keen on making any assumptions about my marital situation being compassionately understood.

Cheap deadly weaponry is fine if you have the time & inclination to make it. All throughout human history, the mob of people do not stand together, but they sure can run that way. Not often have the mob of common people defeated establishment forces. Much is trumpeted about the few occasions it has happened, but in most instances, it does not go that way. In fact the routing mob makes the job far easier for the liquidators and compromises most efforts of solidarity or isolated resistance. It only takes a small number of organised & ruthless personnel to oppress very large numbers of common people. Even these common people will then turn on each other and for their own desperate benefit, some individuals will expose resistance operatives amongst their number. Human nature is fickle we could say, but that is for the individual, whereas in reality it is very predicatable in a general context. TL.
