It is the UK governments version of 'volunteer'. Those that have no choice. Slave labour to all intents and purposes. Do it or lose your social security benefits.

It is a disgrace that this is being put in place in the UK.

the thing with slave labour is sometimes people can't be a***ed with pennies from the dole or can't get a job so crime goes up.

I should think it's hardly 'cheap labour' if you totalled all their benefits! I approve of schemes like this! They should have been more prepared shouldn't they! I can't see that a few hours under a bridge is going to kill anyone ... oh but ... here we go ... the 'c' worrd's being bandied about! How about compensating the long suffering tax payer who foots the bill for all this nonsense? Pah!

i have not ever claimed dole worked all my life but wood like to no that if i get in the shit then its there for me and my family that is why we pay tax if you stop the dole the goverment will not drop are tax , the money they get is fuck all not enough to live on as for the sick its bad how there being treated by the govement and atos this is how the nazi started find some one to blame for all there woes take the peoples mind off the goverments fuck ups well that wot i think

Not defending the benefits system at all. many people have paid into it for decades and now it comes time to get something back it is slave labour.

It needs completely revamped and imo a citizens income is the only solution coupled with removing politicians for control of anything.
