RE: Flood TAX on the way

Maybe it's time to move to a floodplain and cancel my insurance.... I recall those poor uninsured sheeple were given a great big govt handout to have their lives put back together. I still remember one guy being interviewed who said he was called out of the pub to go to his flooded house. He was asked if he was insured, standing there with a pint in his hand he said no, he couldn't afford it!

It's the socialist way. Look after yourself and you lose out. Wail and whine and you get looked after.

All of us pretty much expect this to happen. You move out to the country. Most expect broadband at full speed, good mobile signals, electrickery and water.

Why should this be any different.

C,mon in a fair society we would only be asked to pay for public services we actually use, I will never use meals on wheels, ring and ride, warden call, sure start, libraries, swimming baths, sports centers, gay and lesbian advice centers etc, but the sub human untermensch socialists rig the system so the tax payers get hammered to pay for the scrounging classes.
yes, i understand that council organised stuff is funded by a share of the general cost between rate payers but surely insurance firms are private firms( well the one my BIL works for is) and as such i shouldnt be expected to pay an excess because (say) Binary's house is in a flood risk area, after all i didnt tell him to live on a flood plain!!(sorry Binary dont take it personal its only an example!Big Grin)

No offence taken - I live by the sea, no flood plain, unless there's a fucking big wave on the way Big Grin
watch out for the spring tides then, i have seen the Barbican in Plymouth flooded during this time.

Thankfully I'm just over 400 feet above sea level. Any massive wave would have to go over the Isle of Wight first too.

People seem to forget that home & contents insurance is optional. I don't bother with either, unless my house is either completely emptied by crooks, or burns to the ground then there's not much I can loose. Certainly nothing worth paying £50 a month for...

being HA we dont have to insure the building, contents insurance costs me £8 per month. when i lived on my own in a 1 bedroomed flat i didnt bother with insurance, after all i could replace everything cheaper second hand than it cost to insure it.
Some people that prefer to be alone arent anti-social they just have no time for drama, stupidity and false people.
