I appreciate all the comment but I'm worried about power.
No power, I can survive for a bit, long term, middle of winter?
As for the "what if if goes wrong".
Well it could, and knowing the nuke industry it probably will BUT there is nowhere safe.
Consider Chernobyl 1986, 1500 (ish) miles away.
It's taken over 20 years for Scottish lamb to become safe to eat.

Japan? TPTB say nothing significant hit us? Yeah right.
Now that's two arguments for not having Nuke power.
Pretty strong ones too.
BUT, moving round the UK to be safe, In fact anywhere in the world?
There is no safe.
Ok, lets ban nuke power, world wide.
Alternatives please that are viable?
Wind power? Works, not all the time but it works.
September 2012, the installed UK capacity 6,858 megawatts (MW)
Coal Fired? Lets pollute the planet with green house gases besides the EU is trying to shut them down.
Natural Gas?
Fine until the Russians do what they did to the Ukraine in 2009.
A whole country held to ransom when the Russians turned off the gas taps.
Wave power?
There's a 3 MW wave farm in Scotland. Cost £4 million, active 2010.
Annual UK consumption for 2006 (only figures I could find) was ~40GWH typically, and ~60GWH at peak.
A gigawatt is 1000 MW.
Every hour. So 40GW = 40,000 MW, 60GW = 60,000 MW
At 6000MWH wind power, we need 6 to 10 times more to break even to 2006 usage. And we're 6 years past that level.
Bear in mind we use in excess of 40GW PER HOUR so when the wind stops, something has to take the load.
And there ain't going to be anything soon as the EU is hell bent on shutting down carbon fuel power stations faster than MP's can jug a bottle of whiskey. Something has to take it's place.
Whilst nuke is not the wonder child, dangerous, definitely NIMBY, it's a viable long term source of power.
We may all prep for no power but over what duration?
My personal prepping for the electricity shortfall?
I've got a generator, oil lamps, 100's of candles, and 20 liters of diesel BUT when I run out of fuel?
If the petrol stations are blacked out, I can't refill my tanks.
Fuel duration before I have to turn feral and nick some?
600 road miles or 72 - 96 hours tops on the generator.
Then I'm sucking fuel through a hose.
ANYONE'S fuel!!!!!!!!!!!!
