US Mega corps trying to shut down the WWW
We need to discuss a back up comms protocol in case the Merkin mega companies do turn off huge sections of the web in protest

RE: US Mega corps trying to shut down the WWW
There are alternatives like Tor and BBS type boards for keeping comms going but the forum would die. No doubt about it.

Not but it totally justifies my pleas for the pepper community to have regular RZs on a fixed date at a fixed location at least once a year, Trade, Barter, Cross Train, Exchange Info, Socialise etc etc.
If we lost the web in the short term at least we would just be scattered fragments of a former growing community.

SATURDAY 18TH AUGUST 2012, The Wilderness gathering, Bison farm, west Knoyle, Wiltshire, just off the A303. we need to get everyone to attend this one every year-within reason of course, depending on location and mileage- but come on folks its only £10 for a day ticket. we dont want to end up like some other so called prepper sites who say they are going to attend and on the day notified NO ONE turns up! besides it would be good to put faces to names!

SD, Can you get the March 31st. details sorted soon? At least some contacts could be made at that. I am trying to get a camp set up in Scotland for this summer. As I am so far out, I think it could be organised in Bute. Kenneth Eames

RE: US Mega corps trying to shut down the WWW
If we can time it with a summer holiday, we'll come. However, because of current economical restrictions, each day is journey that seems to cover many, many miles. I'll watch this space.....(if there is this space!).
You have to get up early to catch a fox.

I just looked at where this actually is. I thought it was up north somewhere - turns out it's only 62 miles from my front door! Bonus.
Be booking the weekend tickets in a few weeks.
