RE: British prepping in the media
I think there will be more people joining SUK over the coming weeks/months , just like we all did, everyone KNOWS things are not right ...they might not know the why bit ,but they sort of know the need to ACT. All we see on ANY news channel is threats of one kind on another....even if you have one brain cell ....thats enough to start prepping NOW there is no time to waste , that much i do know.

RE: British prepping in the media
who ever credited "sheeple" with even one brain cell? we all know they are stupid and "the govt will provide" !!!" keep food in the house? why? everyone knows the supermarket will always have food!!!!"
Some people that prefer to be alone arent anti-social they just have no time for drama, stupidity and false people.

RE: British prepping in the media
Some people are organized, some people aren't. That is the difference between "preppers" and "sheeple", it's not that they don't want to be insulated from emergencies, it's just that they aren't organized enough to actually do anything about it.
Some people manage to buy life insurance, home insurance, AA recovery, medical insurance and checkups. Many realize the importance of oil and filter changes too, but ask them if they have a store of drinking water and they'll look at you as if you never heard of "Taps".
Last week the village where my wife works had a water mains problem, the local cafe was inundated with people looking for tea and coffee, until their water stopped too. People did not have enough water to boil up a kettle. That, my friends, is absolute madness. I wonder how many of those mostly old folks now have a few litres of water in the larder - I'll wager there are a few more "preppers" in the village today.
I like corned beef. It has a shelf life measured in years. It's not going to get cheaper. Why on earth would I make a trip to the shops to buy a tin every time I'm hungry when I could buy ten tins and save travelling time and fuel ? This simple piece of common sense seems to elude most people.

RE: British prepping in the media
I think its mostly a city thing, why keep a store cupboard when the supermarket is only down the road? when I lived in a city suburb I knew some people that lived in flats over the supermarket-they never had any food in the cupboard-the supermarket was their food cupboard!! bit different in a small town or village where you need a car just to get anywhere, our main supermarket is a 50 mile round trip so it makes sense to have a store cupboard, nothing to do with prepping just common sense but when did you hear of a sheeple having common sense??

RE: British prepping in the media
Never fear boys, the cold snap over here is not that severe and the places that got deep snow, in the 4-5 foot range was due to local microclimate situations. Our microclimates are just a bit bigger than yours.
it has been a crisp -11-12 each morning for the past three days and the thermometer has not risen above 0 for three days but it is not in the unnatural or abnormal category yet. That will come latter in January or February.
BTW, all those folks you mention forgot to get the extra stuff before they went home. They are as unprepared as ever.
How long have you fellows been waiting for the "sudden wake up" of the general population?
After 40 years I have stopped expecting anything but the status quo.
Prep for you and yours and forget the rest "getting on board".

I think it just dawn's on people eventually how this can't go on like this ad infinitum and just how exposed they are....I would have been considered a sheeple by the forum only 18 month's ago!
Nothing is fool proof for a sufficiently talented fool!!!!
