hello
Hi all, I've been lurking for a few months, so thought I would introduce myself.
Currently live just outside Bristol, but looking to move to Wales (Carmarthenshire) soon, as soon as our bug-out-location is ready.
Been renovating a farmhouse for few years (by myself on weekends ...so its taking ages). 2 Acres of land, own well, and septic tank. Electricity, but only heating/cooking is with log-burners.
Slowly setting up for WTSHTF, under the guise of a degree of self-sufficiency.
Hoping to learn lots, and contribute here and there.

RE: hello
Welcome to the Forum, Jo, and greetings from Norfolk. I'm sure you'll fit right in.

RE: hello
Welcome aboard from Almost Heaven (West Virginia).
Very interested in hearing of your progress in setting up the homestead.
I've been doing a similar project here for the last 5 years since I retired.

RE: hello
Hello and welcome from Cheshire.
Be interested in what you are doing as several of us are doing something similar.

RE: hello
Welcome Jo,
2 acres of flat(ish) Welsh land will very easily feed a large family. Polytunnels/solar power/ham radio on your list?

thanks everyone !
Getting there Harry...It's mostly orchard at the moment (made 55l of cider last weekend). We planted cob nut bushes last spring, and have broken ground this weekend for a 6mx4m fruit cage.
Am saving up for Solar

Hello from Herts
Sounds like a dream. 2 acres for yourself sounds perfect.
I would love to hear your plans for it
Good luck
