RE: Food price rises
food and energy prices are now expected to rise tween 9 and 12% every year now, whilst wages either stagnate of only rise one or two %

It makes me wonder if I'm far enough out of town for sure.

Yeah I'm only about a 20 minute drive myself, my only advantage is this place is off the beaten track.

RE: Food price rises
I have a small Asda 5 min walk, A small Tesco 10 min walk, A new large Tesco is being built 3 min walk, Within a 10 min drive we have Morrisons, another 10 min drive other direction a huge Tesco, 2 floors of it, 10 min drive, Aldi or Netto or sumat, 15 min drive another Morrisons..We are surrounded by flippin supermarkets, When the new Tesco is built (only a 2 min walk from the town) it will force the closure of most of the shops on the high street) This town struggles at the best of times without a new supermarket being built !

One of the reasons we left Dorset was Tesco's.
They just keep on building these monstrosities and within a few months, the local traders give up.
I was hoping that the Tesco bubble was going to burst a while ago when their profits weren't good.
Unfortunately things have got a bit better for them.
Still early days.
There's always hope them and the other big money grabbing, poor service, rubbish quality supermarkets will just disappear and we can get back to proper shopping in butchers, green grocers, etc.
