didn't know that seaguls were a protected species?
They can be a big nuisance though. When amassed in big numbers they become relatively fearless and will mob attack Chavs for their pasties and chips. ......hmmm maybe not such a bad thing actually. Perhaps they should be protected after all.

back when i lived in Plymouth a seagull tried to take my pasty out of my hand....inside the bus station...needless to say it didnt make it....no one comes between bigpaul and his pasty!
![]() seagulls are nothing more than rats with wings..they'll eat anything-and i do mean anything, they have been a pest around the coast of Devon for years, attacking locals and tourists alike.

Yet again the media have got it wrong. Not all gulls are protected.
Under Natural England's General Licenses (wml-gl04 and gl05), both these are pests and can be destroyed "To preserve public health or public safety and / or prevent serious damage or disease" Gull, Lesser Black-backed Larus fuscus Gull, Herring Larus argentatus These license conditions include the requirement that the user must be satisfied that legal (including non-lethal) methods of resolving the problem are ineffective or impracticable. So just shooting them because they P. you off is a no no.
