they have an interesting concept of protecting privacy too xD

I'd like to think that this prepping thingy will catch on over here BUT if it does, the usual sources of our gear will do what every UK vendor does when something becomes fashionable.
Hike the prices up by a couple of hundred percent.

Well companies like Lakeland report a surge in people buying preserving and bottling equipment like Mason jars, they also sell electric dehydrators, jam making kit and supplies, so it is gaining ground slowly. But the prime problem is the welfare state we should be given mentality of the majority of sheeple. All pay in pennies in tax but think they are entitled to take thousands out, often for life and never have to take responsibility for themselves.
