Paul , I'm no eco hippy green thing, but to be honest I would rather live in a world with interupted power supplies than nuclear power. I woul;choose to live in a society where only schools and hospitals get uninterupted power, most Brits can and did adapt very quickly to the power cuts and blackouts cause by the socialists striking in the 70s. Modern technology means fridges and freezers will remain cold for up to 18 ours if power is disrupted, washing machines, bread makers, tvs, etc can all be set to work or record when the power comes back. wind and solar are unreliable I 100-% agree but I can and do picnick under our local turbines and the farmer grazes sheep right up to them. Nuclear is and never will be safe enough for me. Just my pennys worth.
