It's getting there and then finding a place. Much better here imo. America was OK a few years ago.

Now we get to the grist of the problem, you see partially what is happening is that the enlightened such as preppers, survivalists, homesteaders, realists etc are under the complete misapprehension that what will stop them from leaving WTSHTF is going to be something like Emergency powers laws being applied, or a million sheeple clogging the roads, but that is not neccessarily going to be the problem.

The left wingers, socialists, marxists, control freaks , social engineers etc are not stupid, if they just announced a ban on people moving their would be chaos. But Gentlemen these bastards are very inteligent and think long term. They take control of you in small amounts. They will insist on you HAVING to send your kids to mixed race schools regardless of the acdademic capabilities, they will increase council taxes on homes and land most suitable for self reliance, they will restrict access to vital public services for people living independantly, they will centralise and draw in public services into cities to disuade you from moving out. They already can stop you from legally leaving the UK, they can add a couple of critical comments to your NHS or Police or County records that will stop you from getting mant types of job. they will price you out of the house moving market. I've lost count of the numbers of good decent honest preppers who have said to me " We cant afford to move at the moment" but that is something that will only ever get worse.

Eastern Europe, Slovakia, Bosnia, Hungary, Romania etc all are keen to join the EU, are getting more liberalist but are still cheap and where gun ownership is accepted, also south central France, Chile, Canada have possibilitys.

As much as I love to wind NR up, it's hard to do so with this.

The freeist way to live in the UK is the illegal way. Buy a patch of land, then work on that piece of land and have it as a homestead. Get your gun license and protect yourself.

I think that the gun license register will become a post SHTF hunting list. If the government physically goes against the people, that will be a huge problem. All your details on record. But I assume that by the time that happens, it would be BOBs unpacked at the BOL time.

There is a good thing about living out in the country a little. EVERYONE has a gun, so it's probably a pretty safe thing to get my license.

NR,

Canada? It's in freefall down the slippery slope.

Scuthe,

Like everything else it will all be down to the timing. If an event is clear you bug out with your toys. If they get to you first you have some hard thinking to do.

Shoot then scoot? Is that an option? haha.

I think I'd rather be a hood off the streets, their guns don't have licenses and they won't be checked if they are smart.

Damn it, why do I have to be so law abiding?!?!? haha

The choice is yours...

I don't consider anything I do illegal. Other people? They may think differently.

You've done nothing wrong unless you get caught.

I think you will find he tried to deglitterise Crimbo because in many cases just like today it was not being used to celebrate Christ but as an excuse for wild debauchery. I think he was Britain greatest leader because he put protestant England first not the Vatican, He put the people first not the monarchy, and desperately wanted full democracy across the country not just votes for rich tories land owners. And he finally put a stop to the papal conspirators using Ireland and Scotland to try and force England back under the control of the vatican.
As a military man I also loved the way he and Fairfax created and treated the New Model Army, making it discipled and professional and encouraging promotion by merit not by right of birth. Just think if it was not for him we would be ruled by a Catholic Monarch taking orders from Rome where ordinary people like us were denied the vote, and we could never gain high office even if we were the best for the job.
Plus I am an ardent republican so I see a kindred spirit in the Lord Protector, therscnowt i would like to see more than Liz and Phil and their hangers on being kicked out of the country, Apologies in advance to the monarchists no offence intended.
