Why not indeed, I have two shovels in my kit a Nato folding shovel in in daft plastic sheath / pouch, and a WW2 germsn infantry fighting shovel used as an improvised hatchet by the Werhmacht.

very very underrated bit of kit. Non folding is best as all folders are weak at this point.
