Sea level in England has been rising at about 1-2mm per year for the last 2000 years. That is still the current rate. There is absolutely nothing to worry about.
In contrast, around the Thames ... which used to be dredged to keep the river from silting up, the river, like so many others has been allowed to silt up, meaning areas that haven't seen floods for hundreds of years, are now likely to start seeing them.
The moral: don't live on a flood plain ... they are so called because they historically flooded, And they will start flooding again once the rivers, that were dredged for building supplies and to enable navigation are silted up again.
