If you're making your own bread, don't use 'brown' flour. Make sure it's organic wholegrain, or grind your own.
Brown bread/flour/rice is just the white crap recoloured.

Thanks Scythe, Yes grind your own. Wheat can be bought from Brow Farm and they also sell a grinder. Learn to bake now. If things take a serious dip grow your own wheat. Seed can be purchased from Suffolk Herbs. Kenneth Eames.

Been making our own bread for years, i refurbed a 1920 s grinder a few months ago , ground up some wheat " doves farm " i loved it but OH said its a bit heavy for her , trying some rice in it in a week or two.....there is nothing more satisfying that making bread lifting it out the oven cutting a slice spreading butter on ...straight into mouth uuuuuummmmmmm add ice into oven for a crispy loaf yummy yummy
